
We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with our contractors Sir Robert Mc Alpine, excavation work started on the SouthGate site on Monday 24th September.
This phase of the development involves digging a 10-metre hole to allow an open space for the contractors to start construction of the basement and 860-space underground car park. This should take approximately 10 months, after which engineering works to build the internal structure will commence.
Together with Sir Robert Mc Alpine, we have identified a number of ways of ensuring that Bath is as unaffected by this next phase in the development of SouthGate as possible. The lorries involved in removing earth will:

The lorries will enter and exit the site via Kingston Road, Railway Street and Manvers Street. We have created a series of maps illustrating the routes that they will be taking in and out of Bath.
