Tea Monkey was originally borne out of a dissatisfaction with
the current coffee shop chains….. as a devoted tea drinker, MD
Tracey Bovingdon, was fed up with being treated as a second class
citizen in coffee shops, especially as we are regarded as a nation
of tea drinkers.
Tea Monkey opened its first cafe in Midsummer Place, Central
Milton Keynes in March 2011 and heralded the start of an innovative
communication cafe concept in the UK , offering consumers something
a little bit different and certainly on-trend.
The team wanted to create a tea space.... a place where people
could chill or work, meet and tweet. They wanted customers to
have access to the latest technology... it had to be a space
for all and locally engaged.
So they created Tea Monkey, ...…and they are….. British about
Tea!
Tea Monkey is a refreshing, clean and cutting edge tea bar, with
over 40 different types of loose tea and organic pyramid tea sacs,
including a wellness range and some gorgeous blooming teas . Tea
Monkey also offers people a wide range of hot and cold drinks,
sandwiches, wraps, funky cup cakes and pastries. They even
provide gluten free products, vegetarian options and a creative,
friendly space for children.
They are not saying you can't drink coffee... in fact they will
serve you some award winning blends* but they just believe in
giving customers more choice and a really great place to be with
those choices.
Each store has wall mounted iPads for customers and children to
use free of charge. There's also free Wifi and access
to printing, (with print costs going to charity)… also
watch out for the open mic nights and local music …. it all adds up
to something really quite special….really quite unique
