We’re delighted to unveil our summer installation for 2022, transforming St Lawrence Street and The Place into a bright and vibrant spectacle.
Following last year’s rainbow bunting, this year’s canopy provides a kaleidoscope of colour with over 190 brightly coloured butterflies. The installation also includes a living selfie wall with giant butterfly wings, and two large floral butterfly planters.
As part of our ongoing community work, this year’s design has been chosen in support of one of our charity partners, Trauma Breakthrough, which helps adult survivors of trauma and abuse by providing specialist therapy and support, wellbeing services and mental health courses for the public.
Butterflies are a symbol of freedom, recovery and growth, and the large floral planters have been fitted with QR codes where visitors can make a small donation to the charity to help support the crucial work it does in the local community.
The display will be live throughout the summer until September and we’re encouraging visitors to take photos and share them with @SouthGateBath onFacebook and @southgate_bath on Instagram using the hashtag #SummerAtSouthGate.
