To help stay health in the winter months, an NHS winter flu jab at Boots* is a great first step.
Flu is contagious and can be pretty unpleasant. It can be passed through coughing, sneezing or by touching infected surfaces or people.
Available between September and March, all you need to do is book your appointment at the Boots pharmacy, have a consultation and then get vaccinated**, Boots will even let your GP know.
The appointment should take no more than 15 minutes.
The private Winter Flu Jab Service costs £12.99. The NHS service is free if you're eligible to receive it, ask in store if you're not sure.
*In selected stores only. Subject to specially-trained pharmacist availability and stock availability.
**No vaccine is 100 percent effective, but being vaccinated is likely to give you effective protection against the three strains of flu virus contained in the vaccination. This includes swine flu. It takes 14-21 days for the vaccination to become fully effective.
