Mum's the word

Open Today

09:00 - 18:00

She’ll tell you she doesn’t want anything for Mother’s Day, but what she really wants to spend it with you.

So how do you show her how much she means to you in the most thoughtful way possible?

Follow our top tips and you’ll get some major mum points.

1. Breakfast in bed

We know it’s tried and tested, but we bet there’s not a single mum out there who wouldn’t love to wake up to a breakfast tray complete with a little vase of flowers and a cuppa.

If there are little ones in your house, bonus mum points for having them ‘help’ with this task, it’s sure to raise a smile.

2. Don’t let her near the kitchen

If she normally spends her days keeping the family fed and watered, then make sure she has a day off from cooking.

If she’s passed down her skills to you then great, rustle up a delicious lunch and dinner for all the family.

And don’t whatever you do let her do the washing up! If cooking isn't your forte, why not treat her to a meal out at one of our restaurants?

3. No Housework

If you see her get the vacuum cleaner or a can of furniture polish out, offer to take over and don’t take no for an answer!

She might protest but secretly she’ll be delighted not to do it for a change.

4. Shower her with compliments

Think she’s the best mum in the whole world? Tell her why!

Shower her with compliments about all that she does for you, so she knows you don’t take it for granted.

5. Time

What she likes, more than anything is to spend time with you.

So cancel your usual plans, and spend the whole day together.

You don’t have to do anything fancy (although a spa day would be nice!), it’s just that she’s with you.

6. Gift & Card

If you’ve done all the kind and thoughtful gestures and want to get her a little something too, then why not a bottle of her favourite fragrance from Boots or Debenhams.

She'll be thrilled that you even know what her favourite is, a little detective work may be needed but we promise it’ll be appreciated!

If she’s not a fan of perfume then you can’t go wrong with some choccies from Hotel Chocolat.

And whatever you do, don’t forget a card, there’s a great range at Card Factory or Clinton's.

7. Give her a huge hug

The best things in life really are free!

Still stuck for ideas? Why not enter our fabulous competition and be in with the chance of winning Mum tickets to the Fashion Museum, the Thermae Bath Spa and a £100 shopping voucher.
