Something wild has arrived… Step into SouthGate’s Secret Forest!

Grab your sunglasses and get ready to look up! We’re celebrating a massive milestone – ten years of our famous summer installations – by bringing a lush, woodland-inspired escape to the heart of the city.

Step under the canopy and beat the heat

Created in partnership with the Festival of Nature, this year’s canopy is inspired by their 2026 theme of trees and forests.

We’ve transformed SouthGate Bath into an overhead blooming meadow – and the ultimate spot to wander, stay cool in the shade, and experience a totally different perspective of the city centre.

Look out for our canopy of vibrant green foliage brimming with colourful blooms, busy bees and other beautiful bugs!

Follow the wild trail

The adventure doesn’t stop overhead. Keep your eyes peeled as you wander and follow our brand-new vinyl trail featuring hand drawn illustrations from local artist Marian Hill.

It’s packed with fun-facts about our favourite woodland wildlife – from tiny insects and nesting birds to wild plants and mammals. Even better, you’ll discover super simple, everyday ways we can all work together to protect and support these precious habitats.

SouthGate’s Secret Forest is officially open and it’s the perfect, colourful backdrop for a day of shopping, grabbing a sunny brunch or bite to eat, or just catching up with friends.
